Richard Friedman - Executive Vice President
Rich Friedman began his service as Executive
Vice President of the Syracuse Jewish Federation in July of 1999.
He was the Executive
Director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Manchester (NH) for four
years directly prior to coming to Syracuse. His additional professional
Jewish Federation experience was with the Ocean County Jewish Federation
(NJ) as program coordinator and as the editor and business manager of
the OCJF newspaper.
Currently Mr. Friedman
serves on the InterFaith Works Round Table of Faith Leaders and as part of the group's Steering Committee in the position of "Community Builder". He represents the Jewish
community on the Onondaga County Emergency Food and Shelter Board.
In addition, he continues to serve as a founding member of the Jewish Community
Foundation of CNY.
Rich has extensive volunteer Jewish, fraternal and
charitable experience. He is a past Temple president,
has served on the board and/or the executive committee of two Federations,
was the Grand Chancellor of the Knights of Pythias of NJ, created a
statewide funding program in support of the fight against cystic fibrosis
and was a founding member of a county Make-A-Wish Foundation chapter
among numerous communal activities. Mr. Friedman has been involved in many social action activities highlighted by an activist, inter-faith and project-oriented approach.
