SJF President - Philip L. Holstein

Philip L. Holstein is currently serving his 2nd term as President of the Syracuse Jewish Federation. He has been an active member of the Jewish community here in Syracuse and in Baltimore, Maryland.

Phil has served as a member of the Syracuse Jewish Federation's Executive Committee since 1997 and was, for several years, the Vice President for Community Relations. In the late 1990's, he also served as a Board Member of Temple Adath Yeshurun.

Phil was the 2^nd Vice President of the Baltimore Jewish Council, the President of the American Jewish Committee - Baltimore Chapter, was active on a number of committees of the Associated Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore and was a Board Member of the Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital. While living in Baltimore, he founded a Leadership Development Program for Jewish Communal Leaders.

Phil is a financial services executive who has worked for insurance and mutual fund companies in the United States and in the United Kingdom and is currently the Executive Vice President of Unity Mutual Life Insurance Company.
